Ant Ventures Paperback

By Blanche Elizabeth Wade, Illustrated by Harrison Cady Life is no picnic for Anthony Ant. A dark cloud of discontentment hangs over his feelers, but Dr. Beetle Bug has just the prescription for the restless young insect. It’s an enormous world out there in the meadow, and Anthony must venture into it–alone. On his journey through the vast, wondrous, and often treacherous landscape beyond Ant Hill Manor, he’ll learn that hard work, the generosity of friends, and a cheerful attitude will take you farther than you ever imagined. A timeless tale of friendship and self-discovery, Ant Ventures proves that sometimes the best adventures are the ones that lead us home. Ant Ventures, though nearly forgotten, deserves a place on the shelf next to other children’s classics such as The Wind in the Willows, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, and The Wizard of Oz. The story of Anthony Ant’s journey of self-discovery through a land of exasperated earthworms, crabby caterpillars, and mining moles will captivate readers of all ages with its timeless themes of friendship, industriousness, and home. Enhanced by Harrison Cady’s enchanting illustrations, Ant Ventures still holds the power to delight, despite being published almost a century ago.
