Answer: We do not recommend using a condom over the balloon as you will require lubrication to insert the balloon. The lubrication has ingredients that will degrade the balloon over time. In addition to this degradation, the contact of the balloon and condom will increase friction. We have had reports from previous customers that the lubrication can also cause the glue to peel from the balloon and tubing. Please make sure that the lubricant being used is silicone and glycerin free. CR1B Question: Are these single patient multi-use or can they be used between patients with proper sterilization? Answer: The CR1B catheter is a reusable catheter that can be used between patients as long as the instructions for proper disinfection noted on the IFU are followed.
