annai smith - “peaceful and free” (8 x 10”)

“peaceful and free”, by annai smith (ig: annaismithart)  8x10 oil on wood, framed in black and gold measuring 13 ½ x 15 free shipping within US contact annaismithart@yahoo.com for shipping outside the US this piece is part of my “between here and there” series focusing on the innumerable “between” moments culminating to our own personal life’s journey.  each landscape in time whether beautifully calm and peaceful or rocky, rigorous terrain, builds upon our journey.  “peaceful and free” is inspired by the summer dry grasses of northern california. currently based in the north central valley of california has greatly influenced oil painter, annai smith’s artistic journey.  although her subject matter varies between landscape, still life, and flora, her inquisitive observance of subject leads to the beauty found in imperfection.  her visual journey seeks to find the juxtaposition of old and new, contrasting colors, and textures, looking for the tension and vibrations as well as harmony and poetry.  along with her current work is an ongoing home homage project of preserving memories of homes lost in the 2018 campfire of northern california. contact: annaismithart@yahoo.com
