Ankole Bowl (Small)

Introducing pure decor Ankole bowls! Our artisan partner, Joseph, has been a long-time collaborator with our talented jewelry makers, creating custom horn shapes and teaching them how to polish and finish the material. Each ankole bowl is one-of-a-kind and unique in its variation and the mini bowl is approximately 5 inches in diameter. These decorative bowls are one of his specialties, and showcase the natural beauty and color variation of the horn. The purchase of these bowls directly support his small business and the profits go back to our sanctuaries.  Ankole cattle are an important part of food and tradition in various parts of Uganda. Their horns are typically discarded as waste, unless recycled into beautiful handcrafted goods. Our ankole products are untreated with chemicals or sealants, meaning they are eco-friendly and biodegradable, but as a soft material, they can absorb water.  Please follow these care instructions to keep your bowl in good condition:  Do not use with food Do not soak in water Do not fill with water and let stand Avoid harsh abrasive surfaces - they will scratch the horn Avoid contact with hot surfaces Clean with a warm, damp cloth and dry immediately
