Andy Puzzle - Lesson Break

These puzzles feature the charming paintings of Philadelphia-based artist Andy Rementer. The casual, yet essential images portrayed in Andy Puzzles depict scenes of everyday life, a recurring theme in Rementer’s work. La Gazza Ladra tells the story of a bird watcher who happens upon a peculiar bird sighting and moves closer to ensure that what he sees is not merely his imagination. The Gazza Ladra (Italian for Magpie) is well known for its curiosity and intelligence. It's said they are attracted to shiny objects and enjoy stealing jewelry in particular. It appears this one may have been caught in the act. Lesson Break looks in on a quiet moment where a woman sits in a chair, the room around her carefully arranged with books, plants, and music. She may be stretching, having just returned from a round of tennis. She and her cat gaze idly past the viewer, a sense of stillness and introspection falls in contrast with the world outside her window. Recommended for ages 9 and up.
