Add an Ancient Egyptian touch to your holiday decor this season with these symbolic holiday ornaments. Available in different talismans - King Tutankhamun, Eye of Ra, Cartouche, and Scarab. The Pharaoh King Tutankhamun (King Tut) was the last of his royal family to rule during the end of the 18th Dynasty during the New Kingdom of Egyptian history - his famously known mask was discovered by archeologists, decorated with bands lapis lazuli stones and glass. The vulture and cobra emblems on the forehead and the falcon heads on the shoulders were symbols of the Two Lands of Upper and Lower Egypt and of divine authority. His eyes were made from quartz and obsidian, and are outlined with lapis. The Eye of Ra is known to repel all negative energy and restore harmony. The Pharaohs used them to defend themselves against any element or enemy that tried to destabilize their government. The Ancient Egyptian cartouche was a traditional device used for writing hieroglyphic names inside. Its purpose was to distinguish the names of pharaohs from other, less important writings and hieroglyphics. The oval surrounding their name was meant to protect them from evil spirits in life and after death. Cartouches were formerly only worn by pharaohs, but over time gained popularity for others. The cartouche has become a symbol representing good luck and protection from evil. The scarab is an ancient amulet from Egypt, believed to have protection against disease and death, and was also interpreted as a symbol of resurrection. Worn as a protective talisman by both the living and the deceased, it is one of the most potent of all amulets, symbolizing the sun, protection, transformation + rebirth. ✦ King Tut measures 2 inches wide x 3 inches tall ✦ Eye of Ra measures 2.5 inches wide x 3 inches tall ✦ Cartouche measures 1.4 inches wide x 2.7 inches tall ✦ Scarab measures 2.4 inches wide x 2.7 inches tall ✦ Handpainted Polish Glass Ornaments ✦ Sold as individual items
