Ancient Echo, Antique Phulkari Pillow Cover

This 18-inch square pillow is a luminous masterpiece of Antique Phulkari craftsmanship, repurposed from a rare 19th-century Punjabi wedding shawl. Known as a "Bagh" (garden), this specific style features embroidery so dense that the hand-loomed Khaddar cotton base is almost entirely obscured by shimmering Pat silk thread. Hand-stitched using a traditional darning technique from the reverse of the fabric, the un-twisted silk creates a high-luster surface that reflects light with a jewel-like brilliance, changing character as the day’s light shifts. The technical artistry of the Bagh tradition is a testament to heritage needlework, where patterns were built by counting threads to ensure perfect geometric symmetry. As an authentic antique textile, this piece carries the beautiful patina of its long history. You will find "character marks" such as thread softening, softened vegetable-dye hues, and authentic age-related blemishes. We celebrate these variations not as flaws, but as essential proof of the organic nature of 100-year-old silk and the soul of the artisan who created it. With its substantial square format and sophisticated weight, it functions beautifully as a luxury focal point for Global Bohemian or Modern farmhouse interiors. Style it alongside neutral linens or solid velvet cushions to let the intricate silk "flower work" shine. *Era: Antique Textile / Contemporary Assembly *Size: 18“(L) x 18“(W) *Material: Authentic Pat Silk Thread / Hand-loomed Khaddar Cotton *Backing: Neutral Linen Blend with Hidden Zipper Closure *Color: Earthy Brown Base with Fuchsia and Tangerine Silk *Design: Traditional Symmetrical Lattice and Tribal Motifs *Origin: Punjab, India *Condition: Antique condition; features authentic silk softening and heritage surface variations characteristic of handcrafted aged textiles.   **Please bear in mind that colors of products shown may vary slightly from their original color due to monitor display settings or photography studio.
