An Abridged Black Tārā

Referred to in this practice as Black Tārā (Tib. sgrol nag), Ekajaṭā is a wrathful form of the more common beneficent or peaceful Tārā. Ekajaṭā’s name refers to an iconographic detail that is sometimes not as prominently emphasized as one would expect (as in the case of our text here). In any case, in Sanskrit, eka is “one” or “single,” and jaṭā is “braid,” “plait” or “tuft.” Among the four "buddha-activities," Black Tārā embodies the activity of wrathful destruction of all afflictive-emotions, negativities and harm. This very brief sādhana was composed by Lho Jedrung Nuden Dorjé (1849-1902), an important Drikung Kagyu lama in eastern Tibet who was also trained in Nyingma traditions.  PDF digital file a link to download the file will be sent to your email immediately after purchase
