NovaVive Amplimune MCWF Immunostimulant for Calves

Amplimune for Calves – MCWF Immunostimulant for E. coli K99 Scours Amplimune is a USDA-licensed immunotherapeutic treatment for neonatal calves 1 to 5 days of age. It is indicated for the reduction of mortality and clinical signs associated with calf scours caused by Escherichia coli (E. coli) K99. Amplimune contains mycobacterium cell wall fraction (MCWF), an immunostimulant that stimulates non-specific innate immune response early in the disease process. It is administered as a single 1 mL intravenous (IV) dose per calf. This product may be used as part of a calf scours management program and is commonly used as an alternative approach to traditional antibiotic therapy for enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) K99 diarrhea. Indications & Key Benefits For calves 1 to 5 days of age Reduction of mortality associated with E. coli K99 scours Reduction of clinical signs of enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) K99 diarrhea Single 1 mL dose per calf Supports innate immune response during early disease challenge Low-volume IV administration Available Sizes 5 mL vial (5 single 1 mL doses) 20 mL vial (20 single 1 mL doses) 100 mL vial (100 single 1 mL doses) Each calf receives one 1 mL intravenous dose. When to Use Early treatment of colibacillosis should focus on managing bacterial challenge in the intestinal tract. Optimal administration: Early in the disease process On farms with persistent E. coli scours, administering to calves shortly after birth (within labeled age range) Dosage & Administration Administer 1 mL intravenously (IV) using aseptic technique Single dose per calf Use entire contents when first opened Storage Store at 2°C–7°C (35°F–45°F) Do not freeze Withdrawal Time Meat withdrawal: 21 days Precautions and Warnings For use in calves 1–5 days of age only Do not administer within 21 days of slaughter Anaphylactoid reactions may occur In case of anaphylaxis, administer epinephrine Contains gentamicin as a preservative Antidote: Epinephrine. U.S. Lic. No. 289. For veterinary use How It Works Neonatal calves have an immature immune system and may be highly susceptible to enterotoxigenic E. coli infections, especially in cases of failure of passive transfer (FPT). Amplimune stimulates non-antigen specific defense mechanisms, enhancing innate immune response during early disease challenge. Frequently Asked Questions How much Amplimune does each calf receive?
