Amethyst Stalactite Eye Cluster from Uruguay

This cluster boast a beautiful big amethyst stalactite eye with its agate center staring at you. You can see another stalactite eye on the backside as well. The amethyst is growing atop an agate matrix and polished to a shine around the base. Amethyst Stalactites are formed beginning with one drop or mineral rich water, high in calcium carbonate. When the fist droplet falls it forms a ring like structure of calcite. Over time, droplet after droplet, the calcite layers form an agate center and when the time is right amethyst crystals begin to grow. They can be found with amethyst of the lightest lavender to deep purple  crystals. This cluster measures approximately 4.5” x 3” x 2.75” tall and weighs 1.6 lbs
