Americana Multi-Surface Satin Acrylics

These acrylics are premium, all-surface, indoor/outdoor, satin finish paints with excellent coverage. They are self-sealing, so no primer or varnish is required. They offer superior adhesion on all surfaces, including glass, which is bakeable for a dishwasher-safe finish. They are made with permanent, lightfast pigments and are water-based and non-toxic. They are quick and easy to clean-up and are made in the USA. After a thorough search of water base acrylics available in the United States, "Americana" has exhibited properties that enable us to explore the totally spontaneous and wonderfully addictive ancient art of Marbling as it unleashes the unbridled spontaneous energy at the core of Chinese Brush Painting and Calligraphy. This art form captures the endless variations that result from the intimate dance of ink, color, and water as featured in Ning Yeh's Marbling DVD from his series Chinese Brush Painting: Basics. Additional Information: OAS has selected these colors as an alternative to Le Franc & Bourgeois Acrylics originally featured in Ning Yeh's marbling DVD. This technique he shares gives the Chinese brush painting, Suminagashi and Sumi-e artist the ability to marbleize a piece of rice paper while not changing its properties too much so that the artist can still paint subjects that includes the marbled piece. For color dyes to do Suminagashi and Marbling of papers as art on its own, try Aitoh's Boku Undo Colors.
