American Tiger (1990)

Olympic gymnast Mitch Gaylord stars as a college student who earns extra cash pulling a rickshaw through Miami. His routine life is shattered after an encounter with an alluring exotic dancer leads him into trouble involving a secret videotape. Soon he finds himself framed for the gruesome murder of a wealthy televangelist’s son. Determined to clear his name, he dives deep into Miami’s seedy underworld, where bizarre clues lead him to an eccentric elderly Chinese woman. She reveals that he is unknowingly caught in an ancient battle between forces of good and evil involving a mystical relic sought by the televangelist himself. Now hunted by assassins and dark forces alike, the young rickshaw driver must fight desperately to unravel the mystery and save his own life. Exploitation cinema legend Sergio Martino (Hands of Steel, Torso) directs this action thriller with a wild blend of supernatural intrigue, mysticism, and gritty revenge. Genre veteran Donald Pleasence (Halloween) steals scenes as the corrupt televangelist, alongside Daniel Greene (Hands of Steel) as his merciless enforcer. Full of outlandish twists, memorable set pieces, and plenty of sleazy action, American Tiger is an unforgettable journey into late 1980s Italian exploitation madness. 92 minutes STANDARD FORMAT English audio sound with non-removable Japanese subtitles DVD is NTSC format, Region 0 (region free) playable world wide Also known as: American risciò, American Rickshaw Directed by Sergio Martino Starring: Mitch Gaylord, Daniel Greene, Victoria Prouty, Donald Pleasence, Michi Kobi, Roger Pretto, Regina Rodriguez, and Darin De Paul
