About American Elm (Princeton), one of the most beautiful shade trees, is native to the Central and Eastern regions of the U.S. The vase shaped tree makes a bold statement in New York’s Central Park. It is a medium to large sized hardy tree that grows up to 50 to 70 feet. It can also grow and thrive in a variety of climates. American Elm presents beautiful golden yellow foliage in the Fall and is resistant to the Dutch elm disease that wiped out a large percentage of the elm tree population.
