Amelia's Wheels Lyons Studios Limited Edition Aviation Print

What better way to honor the original aviatrix than with a vibrant, richly colored illustration by one of the foremost aviation artists on the planet? In Amelia's Wheels, Sam Lyons commemorates the aeronautical contributions of Amelia Earhart by showcasing the intrepid flying lady perched atop her iconic crimson Lockheed Vega 5B. While much of the world remembers Earhart for her mysterious disappearance during her 1937 around-the-world attempt, Lyons instead chooses to celebrate her 1932 transatlantic solo flight, during which she became the first woman to fly solo nonstop across the Atlantic. In the 16" x 24" image, Amelia stands proudly upon the front of her Vega, which was the very plane she piloted from Newfoundland to Culmore, Northern Ireland, her accidental destination after weather and mechanical issues forced her off course of her route to Paris. While the artist's sensational depiction of the Vega is sure to hold the gaze of any aircraft enthusiast, art lovers will also marvel at his superb portrayal of the verdant background scenery, complete with rolling hills in the distance and a hazy blue sky. This stunning rendition is probably how the first lady of flight would choose to be remembered. This picture is available as both an Artist Proof (limited to 25) and a signed & numbered Limited Edition print (limited to 250). Both versions are printed on acid-free paper, utilize first-rate permanent inks, and include a Certificate of Authenticity. An exceptional homage to a titan of early aviation that will help immortalize her legacy for many generations to come.
