Amaryllis belladonna - Striped Pink Hybrids, Naked Ladies

As if by magic in late summer, from bone dry soil, slender, 2' tall, leafless stems develop clusters of striped pink and white trumpets — such a trick. Sweetly fragrant! Resents root disturbance. These are grown from seeds in our garden and can take a few years to bloom. It is normal for the foliage to die back in late spring while the bulb goes dormant until the flower stems emerge in late summer. Minimum temperature: 0° F
