Expertly knitted to integrate seamlessly with your prosthesis, this sock assists in lowering temperature a degree or two as well as moisture-wicking capabilities, ensuring a comfortable experience throughout your day. The Alps Prosthetic Sock offers a color-coded system. The sock top is color-coded to indicate its ply count - Green for 5 Ply, Yellow for 3 Ply, and Blue for Lightweight Ply. Prosthesis users can easily identify and select the sock that best suits their needs, facilitating precise adjustments in your prosthetic socket fit. Whether experiencing volume loss or gain, the flexibility of choosing from 1, 3, or 5 ply Alps Socks ensures a proper fit every time. Understanding the importance of the correct ply count is crucial. Many prosthetic wearers experience low back discomfort due to an insufficient sock ply count. The Alps Prosthetic Sock allows users to experiment with different ply options, from lightweight to 5 ply, to find the ideal level that comfortably elevates the residual limb and aligns the hips. This attention to detail helps avoid temporary leg length discrepancies caused by wearing a prosthesis with too little sock ply. What truly sets the Alps Prosthetic Sock apart is its construction with Coolmax fibers. A product of Invista, Coolmax fibers are uniquely oval-shaped in cross-section, unlike the typical round fibers. This innovative design, combined with lengthwise channels knitted along the Coolmax thread, creates a pathway for moisture to travel away from the skin. This feature is especially beneficial for prosthetic wearers who don't use a prosthetic liner, as it ensures moisture is effectively drawn to the sock's surface. Its fine knit construction is designed to withstand the demands of the most active individuals. For those who use a prosthetic liner with a locking pin, the Alps Sock with Coolmax comes with an optional sewn hole-in-toe, adding to its versatility. In summary, the Alps Prosthetic Sock is not just a sock; it's a thoughtful integration of comfort, innovation, and practicality, tailored for the unique needs of prosthetic wearers. Materials 98% Coolmax Extreme 2% Lycra Care Instructions When applying your Alps Prosthetic Sock with Coolmax pay special attention to avoid pulling the sock to thin along the bottom end of your residual limb.  Typically the greatest sock ply thickness is needed along the bottom. When a prosthetic sock is pulled-on vs layed-on, prosthetic wearers run the risk of turning a 5 ply sock into a 3 ply sock. Wash your Alps Prosthetic Socks every day right side out. Machine wash with all purpose detergent similar to Medi-Care Wash, non-chlorine bleach only when needed Rinse thoroughly and pull taut, toe to top. No liquid softeners. Last tumble dry, low heat. Precautions Avoid wearing your Alps Prosthetic Sock for more than 20 hours daily. Do not wear on broken or damaged skin. Discontinue use if your sock shows holes or signs of deterioration. Keep product out of the reach of children. Alps Standard Sock Size Chart Use the "Size Chart Guide" above for details on how to measure yourself for a Alps Prosthetic Socks with Coolmax.
