Alpine Slate - Area Rug - LPZ2

This grey distressed Persian area rug combines classical motif structures with an intentionally aged aesthetic, presenting a formal foundation in tones of anthracite and cream. Woven with a medium-pile polyester and viscose blend, the Alpine Slate design balances structural resilience with a subtle surface sheen. About This Style The Persian style encompasses the design vocabulary of classical Iranian carpet weaving, characterised by intricate arabesque fields, scrolling vine systems, and densely composed floral medallions originating from regional centres like Heriz, Tabriz, Isfahan, and Kashan. When integrated with a distressed or vintage aesthetic, these traditional patterns are modified to evoke an antique appearance regardless of their actual manufacture date. This aged visual character is achieved through surface treatments that mimic long-term wear, including abrash colour variation, selectively faded tones, and erased pile areas that reveal the rug's underlying base structure. Where It Works Featuring a medium-pile construction, this rug balances softness underfoot with everyday durability, making it highly versatile for living rooms, dining areas, and bedrooms. The material composition provides necessary structural support while retaining a high-lustre finish suited to moderate-traffic zones. Due to the viscose content's sensitivity to moisture, it is best placed in dry indoor environments and kept away from entryways, kitchens, or areas prone to spills.
