Alley Rat

Alley Rat by Timmy Patterson x Surftech Fusion Pro The Alley Rat is a direct expression of Timmy Patterson’s decades-long pursuit of high-performance board design. Known for shaping world-class surfboards ridden at the highest levels—from the WSL Tour to critical reef breaks around the globe—Timmy brings his deep design expertise to this modern shortboard built to perform in a wide range of conditions.  With its performance-driven outline, the Alley Rat features a pulled-in nose and refined tail for optimal control and speed. By streamlining foam distribution, Timmy created a board that transitions seamlessly through turns, maintaining flow even at high velocity. The medium continuous tail rocker provides exceptional down-the-line speed while still allowing quick, reactive maneuvering in tight pockets. A semi-hidden flat spot under the chest boosts paddling power and acceleration, while a subtle flip in the nose enhances control in steeper sections. The moderately full, soft rails strike the perfect balance—offering forgiveness without sacrificing precision at speed. It’s a board that grovels with high-performance intent but still holds strong when the waves turn on. The bottom contours are tuned for versatile performance: a single concave under the front foot generates speed, transitioning into a double concave through the fins, then flattening off the tail for smooth, rail-to-rail transitions. Built in Surftech’s Fusion Pro EPS/Epoxy construction, the Alley Rat brings Timmy Patterson’s elite-level design to life with unmatched durability, responsiveness, and lightweight performance. Fusion Pro perfectly complements the board’s design intent—amplifying every movement and ensuring lasting performance session after session. This is not just another shortboard—it’s the product of a master shaper’s vision, executed with precision in Surftech’s most advanced construction.
