Allen Edmonds, founded in 1922 in Belgium, Wisconsin, has long been regarded as one of America's premier men's footwear brands, a testament to its unwavering commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and American heritage. Goodyear Welt Construction: A hallmark of high-quality footwear, Goodyear welt construction is a traditional method that involves stitching the upper leather, welt, and sole together. This method, employed by Allen Edmonds, not only ensures longevity and durability but also allows the shoe to be resoled, granting it a potential lifetime far beyond that of other shoes. Selection of Materials: Allen Edmonds is discerning in its choice of leather, often sourcing from the Horween Leather Company in Chicago. Their leathers undergo a meticulous tanning process, ensuring a finished product that’s both aesthetically pleasing and durable. Such an investment in raw materials results in a shoe that naturally molds to the wearer's foot, offering unparalleled comfort and fit. Craftsmanship: With a blend of state-of-the-art machinery and skilled handwork, Allen Edmonds shoes are sculpted with precision. Each pair goes through a rigorous multi-step creation process, which includes cutting, fitting, sewing, lasting, and burnishing, ensuring that the finished product meets the highest standards of excellence. Timeless Design: While quality in construction is paramount, Allen Edmonds has also remained loyal to timeless and classic designs. This means their shoes are not just durable but also perennially in vogue. American Heritage: One of the few remaining footwear brands to maintain manufacturing in the United States, Allen Edmonds has always emphasized its American roots. This commitment to domestic production ensures a level of oversight and quality control that is sometimes lacking in outsourced operations.
