Alien Drum

Rare. Ethereal. Melodic. Timeless. Take off on a tonal journey that's truly out of this world with the Alien Drum, also known as the Hand Pan. This exceptional percussion instrument is a rarity, with only one maker worldwide and fewer than 1,000 drums in existence. It boasts a unique, hauntingly melancholic tone, making it the perfect companion for crafting emotional and ambient tracks that transport you to distant galaxies. With custom microphone setups to capture the delicate resonances both inside and outside the drum, we explored a myriad of techniques, from gentle finger taps to dynamic palm strikes, rhythmic slaps, and even the mysterious backside of the drum (reminiscent of the Udu). By blending and morphing these unearthly sounds in Soundpaint, you can conjure up a symphony of alien tones like never before. But that's not all! We've fused the Hand Pan Drum with an array of acoustic instruments, including modified pianos, tonal percussion, stringed marvels, synths, and more, creating unique hybrids and otherworldly ambiences that will take your music to the far reaches of the cosmos. Are you ready to unearth your inner cosmic composer? Dive into the Alien Drum experience today!
