Alhambra 7C Cedar Classical Guitar

The Alhambra 7C Cedar Classical Guitar is all-solid and handmade in Spain. It is designed similarly to the classic Alhambra models from 70’s, but has been revivified using new technologies and superior quality woods. The body of this instrument is constructed using cedar for the top and Indian rosewood for the back and sides. The neck is made from African mahogany and reinforced with ebony, which can be seen with a mirror or by removing the nut. The nut and the saddle are made from Melamine, which is an excellent transmitter of sound and known to enhance projection. With golden machine heads and an exquisite rosette, this guitar is a polished & refined representation of the classic Alhambra instrument. (Click here to hear the pronunciation of "Alhambra".) For an even richer sound, we highly recommend the Alhambra 8P or Alhambra 9P.  These models have a lacquer finish on the top and an innovative cross bracing system, both giving more resonance to the guitar by allowing the top to move more freely. These strings provide great volume and resonance.  Being Carbon, they are a bit thinner in diameter than nylon strings. The tone is brighter and not as mellow as nylon strings. If you want a softer sound, nylon may suit you better. Nylon: For nylon strings, I really like Savarez Corum New Cristal set 500CJ strings.  They provide a nice round tone, good volume, and a comfortable feel. If you would like to have strings installed other than the ones that come with your guitar, you can add the Strings Installation Service to your order. -Geoff Ferdón, owner of XGuitars Alhambra 7C Classical Guitar The Alhambra 7C Classical Guitar represents the perfect balance between exceptional sound quality and refined craftsmanship. Handcrafted in Spain by skilled luthiers, this instrument delivers the authentic Spanish classical guitar experience that musicians have trusted for generations. Featuring a solid Canadian cedar top that produces warm, rich tones with excellent projection, the 7C responds beautifully to both delicate fingerpicking and more dynamic playing styles. The Indian rosewood back and sides complement the cedar top by adding depth and complexity to the overall sound profile. Craftsmanship and Design Every detail of the Alhambra 7C has been carefully considered to create an instrument that not only sounds remarkable but feels comfortable to play. The traditional Spanish heel construction ensures excellent stability and enhances the guitar's resonance, while the high-quality ebony fingerboard provides smooth playability and precise intonation. The elegant aesthetic is completed with a high-quality finish that protects the wood while allowing it to breathe and vibrate freely. Traditional wooden binding and carefully applied purfling showcase the attention to detail that makes Alhambra guitars stand out among contemporary classical guitars. Sound Characteristics The 7C produces a balanced, full-bodied sound with the warmth that cedar is known for, combined with excellent clarity across all registers. The bass notes are rich and defined without overpowering the midrange, while the treble strings sing with a sweet, bell-like quality that projects well in both intimate settings and larger venues. As the guitar ages, the cedar top will continue to open up, allowing the sound to mature and develop even more complexity and character over time. This makes the Alhambra 7C not just an investment for today but an instrument that will continue to reward the player for years to come.
