Valmont describes an aldehydic floral: the shimmer of aldehydes and zesty bergamot at the opening, over a fruity, sensual jasmine heart. Is it a classic or a modern scent? Both, by design. Valmont calls it a classic feminine fragrance reinterpreted for a new age — the aldehyde and jasmine pairing is a couture-era signature, given a brighter citrus lift. How much should I use? It is an extrait de parfum, the most concentrated form of a fragrance, so a light spray on the wrists and neck goes a long way and stays on the skin far longer than an eau de toilette would. Who does it suit? Anyone who likes bright, floral and slightly powdery perfumes rather than sweet, gourmand or heavily woody ones. It carries well from daytime into the evening. How does it differ from Laguna Verde I? Laguna Verde I is a floral woody aromatic built on violet leaf, iris and papyrus — greener and drier. Alessandrite I is the luminous floral of the collection, led by citrus and jasmine. Pairs Well With Valmont Rosso I: another extrait de parfum from the same Storie Veneziane collection.
