Alaskan Sourdough Starter

Frontiersman Sourdough is a wild cultivated Alaskan sourdough starter, handmade in Anchorage, Alaska. It is shelf stable, made with 100% organic ingredients, and packaged in a biodegradable pouch. The first frontiersmen to come to Alaska cultivated wild sourdough starter to leaven their bread without access to other yeast. Today, old grizzled Alaskans are known as Sourdoughs in homage to the miners and trappers who settled Alaska. Once you're ready to wake up your sourdough, Frontiersman has excellent instructions with photos on their website showing how to get started and keep your starter happy. Environmental stewardship is a central tenet of Frontiersman Sourdough and a portion of profits are donated to local organizations that protect Alaska's wild natural environment. Sourdough is a probiotic, vegan food. Made with 100% organic ingredients: organic hard red wheat flour, water, wild Alaskan sourdough yeasts. Net wt 2oz (56.7g)
