Alamosaurus Bone Fragment - Authentic Javelina Formation Fossil Specimen

Alamosaurus was the largest dinosaur known in North America - stretching 85 feet from head to tail and weighing approximately 30 tons. It was also one of the last sauropods in the fossil record before the Cretaceous extinction, roaming the ancient floodplains along the Western Interior Seaway of what is now West Texas. This authentic Alamosaurus bone fossil is a piece of fossilized Alamosaurus sanjuanensis recovered from the Javelina Formation - 66 million years old and protected by its natural osteoderm armor during its lifetime. The Largest Dinosaur in North America, Fragment by Fragment This is not a cast. This is a genuine fossilized Alamosaurus bone from the Javelina Formation of West Texas. The specimen is presented in a glass-topped riker display case with an informational card that also serves as the certificate of authenticity. Alamosaurus is one of the rarest sauropods represented in private collections - its late Cretaceous occurrence and the geographic specificity of the Javelina Formation make it an exceptional addition to any serious natural history collection. The Authentic Alamosaurus Bone Fossil at the End of the Dinosaur Era Alamosaurus marks the return of sauropods to North America at the very end of the Mesozoic - a remarkable biogeographic story of a lineage that recolonized a continent it had not inhabited for millions of years, only to disappear along with all other non-avian dinosaurs 66 million years ago.
