Traditionally eaten on its own as a Middle Eastern dessert or candy, this plain halva (or halawa) from Al Wadi is made with tahini, sugar and halawa extract (or marshmallow root). Halva can be blended into fine ice creams, incorporated into cake and pastry fillings, and crumbled into cookie dough. Refrigerate after opening.
