Aimee Bloom and the Clock That Ran Backwards

Aimee Bloom and the Clock That Ran Backwards By April Bijou (Coming April 21st) When twelve-year-old Aimee Bloom discovers a peculiar clock hidden in her grandmother’s attic shaped like a golden birdcage with a whispering brass bird she unknowingly winds time in reverse and stumbles into Widdershin: a world where logic bends, riddles lead the way, and belief is the only true compass. Aimee is no ordinary girl, she’s always felt too curious, too imaginative, and just a bit out of place in a world that values conformity. But in Widdershin, her sense of wonder becomes her greatest strength. Guided by a jingling hare with clockwork eyes and a fox made of ink and mischief, she traverses dreamlike forests, floating markets, and starlit trials in search of three enchanted gears that can mend the fractured heart of time. Along the way, she faces the mysterious Queen of Nothing, a spectral figure whose past may be more intertwined with Aimee’s future than she ever imagined. Told in lyrical, storybook prose that sparkles with whimsy and soul, Aimee Bloom and the Clock That Ran Backwards is a poetic journey through the surreal and the sacred, a tale that celebrates the courage to choose wonder over certainty, imagination over fear, and one’s own voice over the expectations of others. This is not just a fantasy. It is a love letter to anyone who has ever felt they didn’t fit, and a reminder that the stories we live are not written in ink, they are lived in belief.
