AI Impact Kit

AI Impact Kit Grades: 6 to 12 Number of Students: 2 participants per kit  Number of Lessons: NA - Not specifically stated Hours of Content: 15 to 20 contact hours Additional Resources: Sample Lesson Plan Highlights: Mid-tier AI robotics platform with sensor and use-case modules for applied, real-world Data Science and IoT AI projects. Works with Gen AI.  The AI Impact Kit is an innovative educational solution that empowers students to tackle real-world global challenges through hands-on, data-driven problem-solving. Built around a central "Data Block" sensor hub with 13 sensors, students run sensor fusion projects and smart IoT applications, then apply Generative AI integration and data science techniques (Python, Power BI) to analyze, visualize, and interpret results. Projects are aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) — Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-Being, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Climate Action.   Curriculum or Lesson Topics: Data Literacy: Mastery of data collection, analysis, and visualization techniques using Python & Power BI Critical Thinking: Problem-solving aligned with global challenges (climate action, health, sustainability) STEM Skills: Hands-on experience with sensors, programming, and data analysis tools Global Awareness: Enhanced understanding of pressing global issues, fostering responsible global citizenship Smart IoT & Sensor Fusion: Combining multiple sensor inputs into integrated IoT applications Generative AI Integration: Applying Gen AI tools to data interpretation and insight generation Data Science: Using Python and Power BI for analysis and visualization   Standard Alignments: AI4K12 “5 Big Ideas of AI”, ISTE, NGSS, CSTA K-12 CS   What’s Included: 1 Data Block (central sensor hub, 7 total ports — 6 GPIO + 1 I2C, USB-C for charging/data transfer) 13 Sensors, including: Soil Moisture Sensor, Gas Sensor, Raindrop Sensor, Moisture Sensor (temp & humidity), Temperature Probe, Light Detector, Sound Sensor, PhotoGate Sensor, Health Sensor (wearable), Motion Detector, Vibration Sensor, Flame Sensor  1 USB-C Cable   Technology Requirements/Specifications: Computer: A Windows OS laptop or desktop is strongly recommended — the DSPRO Software, Device Manager/driver steps (CH340/CP210x USB drivers), and Excel Data Streamer integration are Windows-oriented workflows per the product manual. USB Port: A free USB-A or USB-C port (with adapter if needed) to connect the Data Block via the included USB-C cable Microsoft Power BI: For advanced data visualization and dashboarding (Power BI Desktop or Power BI service access) Python: For data science workflows referenced in the AI Lab brochure (Python | Power BI listed as a feature) — a Python 3.x environment with relevant data science libraries Generative AI Access: Since Gen AI Integration is a listed feature, access to a Generative AI tool/service is required. Internet Access: Needed for Gen AI integration, Power BI cloud features (if using the online version), and initial software/driver downloads Minimum System Specs: A current machine with at least 4-8GB RAM to comfortably run Excel, Power BI, and Python simultaneously   Special Notes and Considerations: Due to production time, this item typically ships 3-4 weeks after receipt of the order.
