Ahava Brooch

One of the iconic features of the Israel Museum’s art garden is Robert Indiana’s 13-foot-tall steel AHAVA sculpture, created especially for the Museum in 1978 on the basis of his famous sculpture LOVE. As in the original English version, here too the Hebrew word’s four letters are split into two rows of two letters sitting on top of each other. And what gift could better express our feelings towards someone we LOVE (including ourselves) than this elegant Ahava Brooch inspired by Indiana’s timeless sculpture? Robert Indiana’s work is a gift of Beverly and Dr. Raymond Sackler, Connecticut, to American Friends of the Israel Museum.
