With strong associations to the root chakra, it can help ground the mind, body, and spirit. Simply having some nearby can help absorb negative energy, and encourage mindfulness and control of your mental and emotional states." Roman and Native American warriors would often paint themselves with the blood-red powder for protection in battle, believing that it would render them invulnerable and give them courage and strength.
