After Dark Chambray Denim Linen Cotton Blend

Why We Love It We chose this fabric because of its beautiful chambray weave. Light and dark threads are woven together to create a soft, dimensional color that feels much more interesting than a flat solid. It’s quietly elevated but completely wearable—the kind of fabric that makes even a simple garment feel a little special. The linen and cotton blend has the character we love about linen, but with added stability that makes it easier to sew and wear. Fabric Details Content: 60% linen / 40% cotton Width: 54 inches (138 cm) Weight: 260 GSM (7.6 oz) What It’s Like to Sew This fabric is soft with a fairly smooth surface and just a hint of rugged texture from the linen fibers. It behaves a lot like linen but isn’t nearly as shifty, so it cuts cleanly, stays manageable under the machine, and presses nicely. It’s a great choice for beginners who want to try sewing with linen while working with something a little more stable and forgiving. The cut edges may fray slightly, so we recommend finishing your seams with a serger, zigzag stitch, or enclosed seam finish. What to Sew The midweight feel gives this fabric a lovely balance of softness and structure, making it especially good for relaxed everyday garments. Relaxed pants and shorts Overalls and utility jumpsuits Button-up shirts and overshirts Lightweight jackets and chore coats Casual skirts and dresses Structured tops Tote bags and simple accessories Care & Color Notes We recommend pre-washing before cutting. Machine wash cold with like colors and hang to dry or tumble dry low. Warm iron if needed. We do our very best to photograph our fabrics as accurately as possible, but every screen displays color a little differently. Because of this, the color you see on your computer, tablet, or phone may not be an exact match to the fabric in person. If color is especially important for your project, we always recommend ordering a swatch first.
