LG Refrigerator Ice Maker (AEQ72909603)

The LG Refrigerator Ice Maker is the self-contained unit inside your freezer compartment that automatically produces, harvests, and stores ice for dispensing. It uses a built-in heater, motor, and thermostat to freeze water in its mold, release the cubes, and cycle continuously to keep the ice bin filled. The LG Refrigerator Ice Maker can fail due to worn motor components, a faulty thermostat, a burned-out heater, or damage from ice jams that put stress on the ejector arms. Water inlet issues, temperature fluctuations in the freezer, or mineral buildup from hard water can also shorten the life of the unit over time. These symptoms may help you determine if this part is the source of your ice maker problem: - Ice maker has completely stopped producing ice - Ice maker runs through cycles but drops little or no ice into the bin - Ice cubes are undersized, misshapen, or clumped together - Ice maker makes loud grinding, clicking, or humming noises during operation - Ice maker arm or ejector is visibly broken or stuck in position - Freezer temperature is normal but ice production is inconsistent or slow - Water fills the mold but cubes are not released into the bin
