ADHD Memory Strategies

Memory is the brain's ability to store, retain, and recall information. While some individuals are naturally gifted with strong memory capabilities, those with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may face challenges in this area, particularly with working memory. This can lead to difficulties in following instructions, organizing tasks, and recalling details. The ADHD Memory Strategies handout is designed to help clients enhance their memory through age-appropriate activities. The upper section is divided into two parts: the first part explains specific memory issues associated with ADHD, while the second part explains the impact of ADHD on working memory. Meanwhile, the bottom section provides 9 practical tips for boosting memory. Parents and teachers can assist kids and teens by encouraging them to start with small steps, such as trying one or two tips from the handout each day. For example, they can support kids in incorporating regular physical exercise by establishing a daily schedule that includes time for biking and playing sports. This handout is included in our 29-page ADHD Handouts Bundle, which provides a variety of ideas and coping strategies to support better management of ADHD symptoms. *This item is an instant digital download.
