Acoustic Magic Voice Tracker III Array Microphone for Pristine Speech Capture

Acoustic Magic Voice Tracker III array microphone. The Voice Tracker III is the best array microphone for Speech Recognition or Meeting recording bar none.  Crystal clear VOIP conferencing for remote meetings. Voice Tracker III Product Details The affordable high-performance array microphone. Acoustic Magic has been manufacturing and selling the Voice Tracker I scanning-beamforming array microphone since 2002. More than 18,000 have been sold. It has been proven to be reliable, easy to use and capable of picking up talkers clearly at ranges as far as 30 feet, with a 360 degree field of view. We are now excited to introduce the Voice Tracker III, which is based on the pioneering and proven technology of the Voice Tracker I, but has 2 dB better signal to noise ratio, and a flatter frequency response curve, leading to a “brighter” sound quality. The Voice Tracker III is ideal for our array microphone’s traditional applications of lecture and meeting recording, but improvements in VoIP products open the door for additional use in video conferencing and distance learning. State of the art VoIP products like Zoom and Skype have improved AEC capability, so the Voice Tracker III doesn’t need its own AEC and consequently fills the need for an affordable yet high performance conferencing array microphone. Priced at $470, the Voice Tracker III costs much less than competitive array mics, making it practical for multiroom installations. We opted to make the Voice Tracker III simple and easy to use. Just connect it to a wall power source and your computer thru a 3.5mm or USB connection and you are done. No multiple beam set up is required. The single “Listening Beam” automatically and electronically steers to the active talker. It is truly plug and play. The decision not to add peripherals such as a camera or loudspeaker in our design enables the user to be free to choose best in class products, or to take advantage of existing equipment. Multiple Voice Tracker III array microphones can be combined using 3.5mm Ys or Mixers. Use with High Performance mixers will lead to amazing room coverage and sound quality. The Voice Tracker III can sit on a table or podium, but it also comes with a ceiling/wall mount. Because of its long pickup range, ceiling or wall mounting will work well and removes room clutter. The microphone solution had to offer performance that met the needs of various sizes of educational spaces with varying acoustic properties, have a short installation and configuration time and the solution needed to support both the instructor as well as the socially distanced students whom attend in person in order to ensure the remote students hear the instructor lecture as well as the questions from their peers in class. The solution we sought needed to be touchless/hands-free to eliminate concerns of spreading the virus via shared wireless microphones. Ultimately the Acoustic Magic Voice Tracker III met our requirements. We were able utilize 1 or 2 microphones in all of our educational spaces to capture the instructor as well as the in-person student questions for the remote students to hear as well as for lecture capture purposes. In spaces where 2 microphones were needed we utilized and Extron Electronics two input mixer that integrated both microphones as one input to the PC. The installation time for both wall and ceiling installation was less than 10 minutes per microphone which allowed us to deploy the microphones in the 600+ educational spaces quickly and kept the overall installation of the microphones, required USB cameras and touch monitors under 30 minutes per room. We positioned one Voice tracker III near the instructor and presentation area and where needed a second microphone was installed focused on the audience to capture student questions. Regardless of being ceiling mounted or wall mounted the microphones captured those speaking and eliminated the need to implement a microphone that would need to be touched. The beam-scanning capability ensures the microphone is providing audio from the active speaker within the classroom and the lights on the microphone display which microphone of the array is active capturing the active speaker. The product has worked well in all educational spaces ranging from conference rooms to large classrooms. Overall it met our needs in order to provide a new Hybrid Blend-flex learning model as a response to the pandemic. Adam Linzels Director of Audio Visual Architecture, Engineering & Integration Nova Southeastern University Using the Voice Tracker™ III in hybrid classrooms combining in room students and VoIP off site students We successfully tested the microphone for classroom purposes. Here is a video of our test. The room is 30×25. We had a logitech camera in front and was using the laptop camera as the second feed, all on Zoom. The Voice Tracker III was located in the front corner of the room. Participants on ZOOM reported near perfect clarity. Farzin Madjidi, EdD Associate Dean; Professor of Leadership Education Division Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology Using the Voice Tracker III with Microsoft Teams We received the Acoustic Magic microphone this week and we tested it out today. We were very impressed! I could stand at the back of our boardroom with the microphone at the front and the sound quality was great! We tested it out using both Microsoft Teams and Zoom. While it worked fine for both, we found that the Teams seemed to pick up the sound better than Zoom, which surprised us a bit since Zoom’s audio quality is generally better than Teams. It might be related to Zoom’s microphone auto-adjust feature, which we tried turning off, but then it was hard to hear the speaker if they were in the back of the room. We have a large projector screen that covers the front of the boardroom wall, so we’ll be mounting it from the ceiling, centered above the projector screen, tilted down a bit. The “Boardroom Front” attachment shows where we plan to permanently mount the microphone. I also attached some other pictures of our boardroom so you can get an idea of the size of the room. So far, we’re very happy with the product. Boardroom Front NGO combines two Voice Tracker™ IIIs with an inexpensive mixer We use two Voice Tracker III microphones processed through a Behringer X16/XAir in our 2400 sq. ft. meeting hall to broadcast local recovery meetings, seminars, and training events over Zoom. We also employ one Voice Tracker III microphone, processed through the same Behringer X16/XAir, in another adjoining meeting hall room. We were really impressed with the quality and capability of these microphones; they surpassed all our expectations. They have an amazing ability to pick-up and focus in on individuals speaking in the hall, regardless of where they are seated among our larger 80 seat capacity hall, whether it be from 5’ away or 40’ away. We believe that they surpass the capabilities of more expensive array and ceiling-mounted microphones we tested prior to trying the Voice Tracker III. They simply and easily satisfy our needs, with unbeatable value compared to any competitor we found. We would recommend the Voice Tracker III to anyone needing a high-quality solution. Matthew B Wright, BS President and Director Montachusett Recovery Foundation Corp. Using the Voice Tracker™ III with the ATEM Mini Switcher to enhance hybrid classrooms Blackmagic Design’s ATEM Mini Extreme enabled me to deliver studio-quality video to remote Zoom students, integrating live video of me (coming from an HDMI webcam) and my presentation materials (PowerPoint coming over HDMI from my laptop). And, Acoustic Magic’s Voice Tracker III made it possible for my remote Zoom students to clearly hear every word spoken by the in-person students. Those two technologies made it as close as possible to being there in person for our remote Zoom students who couldn’t make it to campus.
