Acorn Plastic Frames – One-Piece, Deep & Medium

Acorn plastic frames are a one-piece frame and foundation molded as a single rigid unit — no assembly, no wiring, and no separate foundation to install. Each Acorn full plastic frame is made from food-grade plastic with a precision honeycomb cell pattern and a heavy beeswax coating, so bees accept it quickly and draw straight, even comb. Made in California, these one-piece plastic frames won't bow, warp, or blow out in the extractor, and the solid plastic shrugs off the wax moth and rodent damage that ruins wax comb. Features One-piece design — frame and foundation in a single molded unit; nothing to nail, glue, or wire. Precision-molded cell structure — patterned like natural comb so bees draw it out readily. Heavy beeswax coating — a generous coat encourages fast acceptance and comb building. Reinforced, redesigned ears — a stronger ear configuration and a flatter, stiffer body that resists bowing and warping. Wax moth & rodent resistant — solid plastic gives pests nothing to tunnel through. Made in the USA — manufactured in California. Two sizes, two colors — Deep (9-1/8") and Medium (6-1/4"), in white or black. Pack options for any operation — single frame, 10-pack, or full case (72 per case medium, 52 per case deep). How it works Drop a frame straight into a standard Langstroth box and the bees go to work — the heavy wax coat smells and feels like comb they would build themselves, so they draw it faster than bare plastic. Once drawn, the rigid core stands up to repeated extraction without the blowouts you can get with wired wax. Pull a frame, inspect it, spin it, hose it down, and put it right back in the hive. Before you order Pick your size: Deep (9-1/8") for brood boxes; Medium (6-1/4") for honey supers — match the depth of your woodenware. Pick your color: White is the classic look and shows comb and honey; black makes eggs and young larvae much easier to spot during inspections. The black and white frames are otherwise identical. Pick your pack: a single frame, a 10-pack, or a full case — 72 frames per medium case, 52 per deep case. Mind the heat: the plastic is built to withstand temperatures up to 210°F; sustained higher heat can distort it, so keep them out of hot closed vehicles and don't steam-clean them. Complete frame: this is a one-piece frame and foundation in one — it does not need separate foundation. Pairs Well With Acorn Plastic Foundation — the same precision comb pattern as a drop-in sheet for your wooden frames. Assembled Medium Frames with Acorn Foundation — wooden frames already fitted with Acorn foundation, if you prefer wood. 10 Frame Beehive Woodenware — the hive body that houses a full set of frames. Wooden Handle Frame Grip — lift drawn frames cleanly during inspections. Stainless Steel J-Hook Hive Tool — pry and lift frames without crushing bees. Specifications Type: One-piece full plastic frame (frame and foundation in one) Sizes: Deep 9-1/8", Medium 6-1/4" Colors: White, Black Pack sizes: Single, 10-Pack, Full Case (Medium 72/case, Deep 52/case) Material: Food-grade plastic with a heavy beeswax coating Temperature limit: about 210°F Origin: Made in the USA (California) Brand: Acorn Bee FAQ Do these need separate foundation? No — each Acorn plastic frame is a one-piece frame and foundation in a single unit. There is nothing to assemble or wire. Deep or medium — which do I need? Use deep (9-1/8") in brood boxes and medium (6-1/4") in honey supers, matching the depth of your woodenware. Black or white? Black makes eggs and young larvae easier to see during brood inspections; white shows comb and honey nicely. The two are otherwise identical. Do I need to wax them? No — they come heavy-waxed. Some beekeepers add a light extra coat of melted beeswax to speed acceptance, but it is not required. Will they hold up in the extractor? Yes — the rigid one-piece core is built to spin repeatedly without bowing or blowing out.
