AC Hawk Dahlia

AC Hawk Dahlia produces striking 6-inch magenta blooms with the distinctive semi-cactus form that collectors prize for its intricate, spiky petals. This vigorous variety reaches 4 feet tall, making it an excellent choice for mid-to-back border placement or cutting gardens. The rich magenta coloring commands attention in arrangements and landscape displays. Semi-cactus dahlias like AC Hawk offer superior vase life and structural integrity compared to other forms, ideal for both fresh bouquets and garden impact. How To Plant Dahlias To get your dahlias started, pick a sunny spot with soil that drains well. Dig a hole, lay the tuber flat, and cover it with soil about 3 inches deep. Hold off on watering for now. Once you spot some sprouts and a few leaves, it’s time to water, but keep it gentle to prevent root rot. It’s a smart  to put the stake next to the tuber at the same time of planting, so you don’t accidentally damage it later on. As the season goes on, give your dahlias some love with fertilizer and insect sprays to help them bloom beautifully and grow strong. In the fall, dig up the roots and store them over winter.
