Sideways, 2002, an ink on paper work by American artist Christopher Osgood (b. 1950). Broad, fluid black marks move across the paper in an energetic abstract composition, balancing dense passages of ink with open areas of white. Osgood has worked extensively in ink and watercolor on paper, describing his practice in terms of tone and energy. Signed and dated “Chris Osgood 9/02” lower right. Titled, dated and identified as ink on paper on the reverse, with Caldbeck Gallery, Rockland, Maine label. Osgood exhibited at Caldbeck Gallery throughout the 1980s, 90s and 2000s. Presented floated under glass in a pale wood frame with wire hanging hardware.
