Able Kone Reusable Filter for Ratio Eight – Stainless Steel Permanent Coffee Filter | Barsonist

Eliminate paper filters permanently with this 40-ounce-optimized stainless filter that delivers enhanced body and aromatic complexity through precision-engineered mesh geometry. Ratio Eight-Specific Engineering Developed through direct collaboration between Ratio and Able, the Kone's dimensions and perforation pattern optimize extraction for full 40-ounce batches. This isn't a universal filter adapted to fit—it's purpose-built geometry that complements Ratio Eight's water delivery patterns and basket configuration for complete bed saturation and even drawdown. Refined Mesh Architecture The 2020 redesign improves cleaning accessibility while maintaining the calibrated flow rate that distinguishes Kone from generic metal filters. Laser-cut perforations allow aromatic oil passage for enhanced mouthfeel and flavor complexity, while the mesh geometry prevents the sediment accumulation and muddy texture that compromise lesser reusable filters. Enhanced Durability and Maintenance Structural reinforcements and improved mesh attachment increase longevity under daily brewing cycles. The redesigned geometry facilitates thorough rinsing—critical for permanent filters where coffee oil accumulation degrades performance over time. Simple warm water cleaning after each use maintains optimal flow characteristics indefinitely. Permanent Filtration Economics Eliminates recurring paper filter purchases while reducing waste. The stainless construction withstands years of daily use, making this a one-time investment that pays for itself through eliminated consumable costs. This is sustainable coffee practice that improves brew quality rather than compromising it for convenience. Selected for its ability to enhance Ratio Eight performance through permanent filtration that elevates body and aromatics while eliminating paper filter dependence.
