A8-5 Engines

The Estes A8-5 Engine is a lightweight, high-performance motor designed for small rockets and upper-stage missions. With a maximum lift weight of 2.0 ounces and a peak thrust of 10.7 newtons, it delivers strong, stable acceleration for reliable flights. The -5 second delay is optimized for rockets that benefit from a longer coast phase before deploying their recovery systems, enabling smooth altitude transitions and gentle descents. Ideal for both single-stage and multi-stage builds, the A8-5's longer delay allows your rocket to arc and slow after burnout before activating the ejection charge. This helps protect the recovery system and contributes to a more controlled return. Its compatibility with a wide range of Estes kits makes it a flexible and dependable option for hobbyists, educators, and students alike. This standard 18 mm engine is easy to install and works seamlessly with many lightweight Estes rockets. Each pack includes three A8-5 engines, four igniters, and four igniter plugs—everything needed to get your launch sequence ready in just minutes. Whether you're building for a classroom lesson, a club launch, or weekend backyard flights, the Estes A8-5 Engine offers the performance and precision needed for successful missions. Count on it to deliver smooth launches, high-altitude arcs, and reliable recoveries every time.
