A8-3 Engines

The A8-3 is one of Estes’ most popular engines—and for good reason. With a powerful yet manageable thrust profile, it’s designed to launch lightweight model rockets up to 500 feet. The 3-second delay allows the rocket to coast at apogee before deploying the recovery system, resulting in picture-perfect flights and gentle landings. This engine is ideal for use in smaller, single-stage rockets and offers a great introduction to model rocketry. Whether you're learning the basics or refining your skills, the A8-3 provides a reliable and predictable flight experience that helps build confidence with every launch. Each A8-3 engine is precision-manufactured for consistent performance, so you can trust it to deliver a thrilling liftoff and smooth recovery every time. It's an excellent option for schools, camps, STEM programs, or anyone seeking a safe and satisfying launch. The A8-3 three-pack includes everything needed for multiple flights, including starters, plugs, and recovery wadding. Just add your favorite Estes rocket and a launch system, and you're ready to take off.
