A51511 - Router Bit, Downcut, 1 Flute, 1/8 in CD, 1/4 in SD, 0.5 in LOC, 2 in OAL

These Amana bits will produce clean, smooth cut edges in acrylic and other plastic materials. Cut Diameter: 1/8" Shank: 1/4" Cut Length: 1/2" Overall Length: 2" Flute Type: Downcut The bits are made according to strict tolerances from an exclusive high quality carbide grade and polished to a mirror finish using Amana's unique process. The Amana downcut router bits have a left hand spiral flute design which tends to push the material down onto the machine bed during cutting. This is very useful when processing thin sheet materials of almost any type which would otherwise be lifted from the bed by a more conventional upward spiral bit. The downward force created by this tool helps to hold the material in place, reducing the chance of poor or inaccurate cutting due to material movement or vibration. Materials such as laminated woods or plastics often have top surfaces which are prone to chipping when cut with an upward spiral tool. In these applications, the downward spiral geometry is very effective in eliminating delamination on the upper surface. Use for all types of thin wood, plastic, foam or aluminum sheets which may distort or lift when cut with an upcut spiral bit. Any material, such as wood, plastic laminates and plywood, which has an upper surface that can be easily chipped.  Excellent for cutting: Plastic/Acrylic Acetal and Nylon Acrylic Stone Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) Alupanel® Corian Coroplast®** Corrugated Plastics* such as Correx Boards and Polypropylene Delrin Dibond® Extruded Acrylic Foam Board Fomex® Gatorfoam®*** Hard Plastic High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) High Density Urethane (HDU Board) High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) for digital printing Hydroxy-Terminated Polyether (HTPE) King ColorCore® The Multi-Color Engravable Polymer Sheet.
