A Life Not Lived

Author: B.D. Tippin ISBN 978-1-63868-220-2 (hardcover) 408 pages At fifty-something years old, a man finds himself straddling the fault line between who he was and who he’s becoming. Choices must be made. Once a hands-on practitioner with a reckless sense of purpose and a stubborn heart for helping others, does he now limp away from the stressful chaos of life’s daily fires, blaring sirens and broken bodies…only to face the quieter, more personal wreckage it left behind? Can revisiting his painful memories help relieve the very pain that shaped him? Or are they just a tragic reminder of how a life gets built…piece by piece…and how easily those pieces can unravel. Reflective, thought-provoking and full of hard-won truths, A Life Not Lived isn’t about starting over. It’s about how a man learns to stay true to himself. And how every choice creates the building blocks for a yet unlived life. ABOUT THE EDITOR B.D. Tippin spent nearly twenty years at the front lines of mental health and trauma counseling, helping families, soldiers and first responders rebuild their lives after unimaginable adversity. With a career defined by compassion, grit, and quiet heroism, his work reflects the raw truths about sources of trauma and recovery drawn from real-world experiences many have had, but most don’t realize. Now in his fifties, after a ten-year hiatus from the mental health field, he returns to his passion for writing, through stories that speak to the strength of the human spirit that dares to listen to the unspokenness of the world.
