A Celtic Summer Fabric Collection - Celtic Thistle Duck Egg

With its cool, misty colorway, Celtic Thistle Duck Egg feels like thistles and Celtic knots woven into a soft summer haze. The tonal design lets the botanical details shine quietly, with bees, thistle heads, curling leaves, and knotwork shapes blending beautifully into the duck egg background. It has a calm, graceful quality that works well wherever you need a coordinating print with depth but not too much contrast. This fabric would be beautiful in quilt backgrounds, borders, backing, bags, and home décor pieces with a fresh countryside feel. Celebrate summer in the Scottish countryside with the charming A Celtic Summer fabric collection by the in-house Lewis & Irene design team. This whimsical range brings Highland cows into full bloom, surrounding their shaggy coats and gentle expressions with thistles, bees, florals, and breezy seasonal color. Sun-washed shades of light purple, duck egg blue, soft pink, cream, and sky blue give the collection a fresh, airy feel that is perfect for warm-weather sewing. Traditional Celtic-inspired details and classic checks add a sense of heritage while keeping the prints playful and approachable. From sweet cow motifs to delicate blenders and elegant floral designs, each fabric works beautifully on its own or as part of a coordinated project. Every print is made from 100% pre-shrunk cotton and measures approximately 44" wide, making it a lovely choice for quilts, home décor, accessories, and more. A Celtic Summer also includes a beautiful one-yard panel featuring four individual Highland cow squares framed with flowers, ideal for cushion covers, quilt blocks, wall hangings, or statement accents. The coordinating prints make it easy to build projects that feel soft, cheerful, and full of countryside charm. Buzzing bees and blooming thistles bring movement and texture, while the gentle palette keeps the overall look calm and inviting. Quilters will especially appreciate the two free downloadable patterns offered with the collection, including a throw finishing at 52" x 52" and a quilt finishing at 64" x 64". Whether you are creating a cozy summer quilt, decorative pillows, or a gift for someone who loves Highland cows, this collection offers plenty of warmth and personality. With its mix of Celtic tradition, floral beauty, and playful farmyard charm, A Celtic Summer captures the feeling of a bright countryside day stitched into fabric.
