Your browser does not support our video. What makes our light better than the competition? QUALITY •Actually shortwave (254nm) LED •Dichroic lens with 80% transmission, same as pure quartz glass. A ZWB3 filter = 40% transmission, HOYA filter = 60%. When comparison shopping, don't be fooled by "UV output" numbers alone. •Best LED chip available. Competitors offer low prices or big output numbers by using inferior LEDs that quickly begin to dim (12% in just one hour, and 25% after only ten hours!) Our light uses Photon Wave brand LEDs (model PKB-H50-F35) because they tested at only 3% dimming after one hundred hours and held steady at around 12% after one thousand hours. •365 day manufacturer warranty - hassle-free repair or replace if there are any issues with the light (30 day warranty on battery) •Continuous operation, no need to turn off light and allow to cool •Compact size - 5.25" (13cm) and only 5.8 oz (165g) •INCLUDES highest capacity and quality 18650 battery on the market (3500mAh 10A Protected 18650 included, along with USB charger) Looking for a more powerful light? Meet The Hunter 3X Looking for extra batteries? Shop Flashlight Accessories and Spares The technology is finally here! A true shortwave (UVC) LED flashlight. These custom built flashlights represent years of work to make affordable, powerful, portable shortwave LEDs a reality. There are over 500 species of fluorescent minerals, and of these, only about 10% glow in longwave light, while roughly 90% glow under shortwave light. For mineral lovers, shortwave is king. Of course, shortwave lights have many other applications in industry, research, business, and more, but minerals are our area of expertise. This is a powerful agate hunter! Agate and other varieties of chalcedony typically do not glow under long wavelengths, but most do in shortwave. This light features a single, powerful 254nm LED (identical response as a standard 254nm tube lamp) on a custom driver, powered by a single 18650 battery, all in the popular Convoy-style M1 host. The light includes a dichroic lens filter, which blocks unwanted wavelengths from exiting the flashlight, while allowing for far more UV light to pass through (80%) than the ZWB3 (40%) or even HOYA filters (60%) found in other shortwave lights. Our beam gives a fluorescent response equivalent to a traditional 9W 254nm tube-based shortwave lamp. The long throw and tight, strong beam of the flashlight mean you can easily browse fluorescent minerals in a brightly lit mineral show or home setting without requiring total darkness. When you're outside rockhounding, you can start hunting earlier in the evening, and cover more ground than ever without crawling in the dirt or even stooping over like you need to with old tube lights. On top of all this is the amazing portability, as it slips easily into your pocket at just 5.25" (13cm) long, with a 1" (2.5cm) body diameter / 1.5" (3.5cm) head diameter and weighing in at just 5.8 oz (165g) including a battery. SAFETY NOTE: ALWAYS WEAR 100% UVC BLOCKING SAFETY GLASSES WHEN USING THIS PRODUCT. THIS FLASHLIGHT PRODUCES VERY LITTLE VISIBLE LIGHT, BUT LOTS OF INVISIBLE ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT THAT CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE SERIOUS HARM IF USED INAPPROPRIATELY AND WITHOUT SAFETY GLASSES. DO NOT BE FOOLED. SHORTWAVE LIGHT CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR EYES AND SKIN AND YOU SHOULD NEVER POINT THE FLASHLIGHT AT YOUR FACE, AT ANOTHER PERSON OR ANIMAL, OR REFLECTIVE SURFACES. DO NOT LOOK INTO THE FLASHLIGHT TO SEE IF IT IS ON. NOT FOR USE BY OR NEAR CHILDREN.
