HRD PTFE Thermal Intake Manifold Gasket for 2012-2015 Honda Civic Si (K24Z7)

The HRD PTFE Thermal Intake Manifold Gasket is a custom CNC cut gasket, made out of premium PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), commonly known as Teflon. Compared to inferior thermoplastics, PTFE provides lower thermal conductivity and superior sealing ability. This thermal gasket has been designed to work in conjunction with a coolant delete, such as from Tractuff. It also serves as a stencil when cutting your intake manifold so that you can achieve the perfect cut. Superior Heat Resistance Intake manifold gaskets are exposed to high temperatures from the engine and intake air. PTFE can withstand extreme heat, typically up to 260°C (500°F) and even higher for short durations, without degrading or losing its integrity. This heat resistance ensures that the gasket maintains a reliable seal even under the most demanding conditions, such as during prolonged high-performance driving. Chemical Inertness PTFE is chemically inert, meaning it resists reacting with most substances, including automotive fluids such as gasoline, oil, and coolant. This property is critical for intake manifold gaskets, as they come into contact with various chemicals that can degrade traditional gasket materials over time. PTFE’s chemical stability extends the lifespan of the gasket, reducing the need for frequent replacements. Low Friction and Self-Lubrication PTFE’s low coefficient of friction allows it to create an effective seal without excessive force. This reduces the risk of deformation or damage during installation and operation. Its self-lubricating nature also helps prevent wear over time, maintaining the integrity of the gasket’s seal and enhancing engine performance. Conformance and Flexibility PTFE is highly conformable, meaning it can easily adapt to uneven or imperfect surfaces. This characteristic is vital for intake manifold gaskets, as they must form a tight seal between the manifold and the cylinder head to prevent air and fluid leaks. PTFE’s flexibility ensures a secure fit, even in cases of minor imperfections in the mating surfaces. Durability and Longevity PTFE gaskets are highly resistant to wear, aging, and environmental factors such as UV light and ozone. These properties make them ideal for applications where reliability and long service life are essential, such as in high-performance or turbocharged engines.
