There, Beneath the Water, Volume 2

Even though she knew fully well that giving up would make things far easier...being alone is just so, so lonely. After being abandoned by her mother, a young girl by the name of Ichika moves to a town and hears of a legend surrounding the mermaid that lives in the waters. Refusing to admit that she's been abandoned, Ichika pushes those around her away, as if she's rejecting the very notion of blending in with the new town life. As Ichika struggles with the reality she has been left in, she meets a mysterious girl by the name of Chitose. Will this Chitose bring the abandoned girl salvation or possibly...doom?
