In 1927, Wright designed a series of twelve seasonally themed monthly covers for Liberty magazine. The magazine deemed the covers too avant-garde and returned them to Wright. This framed tile set includes: One 8x8 May Basket One 8x8 Frozen Spheres One 8x8 March Balloons in Parade One Triple Oak Park Frame in Craftsman Oak or Ebony, 11 1/2" x 28 1/4" The 2-inch Oak Park flat frame is made of oak. The Oak Park is the only frame style approved by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation for the tile in our Frank Lloyd Wright Collection. Motawi polychrome tiles are striking individual art pieces as much as functional tile installation accents. We’re told that our tiles will give you serious cred in gift-giving circles. And each one is made by hand and with heart in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We embrace variation and handmade beauty. The bold heft of each Motawi tile reveals serious craftsmanship. And our time-honored hand-glazing methods produce a nuanced range of color with depth and translucence.
