Vintage 14K Yellow Gold Cupid Cherub Figural Drop Earrings 894560

An exceptional pair of vintage figural earrings - oval gold medallions with cupid cherub figures in raised relief, each holding a bow and arrow against a satin-finished background and framed by a polished gold border. Suspended from scalloped, polished gold tops. The kind of classical-mythological piece that doesn't show up in modern jewelry production. The cupid figures are cast in three-dimensional raised relief on a finely textured satin background - you can pick out the wing detail, the curls of hair, and the bow drawn in the cherub's hand. The polished oval frame catches light against the matte interior, creating depth and contrast. Solid 14K yellow gold throughout, marked HEAVY 14K on the back for authentication, 5.2g for the pair - substantial without being heavy.
