This Maple slab has a dramatic natural shape with a strong mix of creamy sapwood, warm golden heartwood, and darker bark inclusions throughout. The large center grain pattern gives it a bold focal point, while the spalting near the lower section adds extra movement and character. With its wide face, irregular live edge, and sculptural openings, this piece has a very organic look that would work best in a custom project meant to showcase the slab’s natural form. This slab would make a striking dining table, where the broad surface and dramatic live edge could become the centerpiece of the room. It would also be well suited for a large kitchen island, giving a communal space a bold, natural focal point with plenty of character. For a custom bedroom project, it could be used as a statement headboard, highlighting the spalting, bark inclusions, and flowing Maple grain.
