This Black Walnut slab has rich brown heartwood with lighter sapwood tracing the live edges and a strong, sweeping grain pattern from end to end. The broad fork at the top creates a dramatic natural shape, with pronounced crotch figure radiating through the upper section and adding a strong focal point. This slab would be an excellent bar top, where its long length and dramatic upper end could create a memorable feature. It would also work well as a countertop, taking advantage of the slab’s narrow, consistent center section, or as a reception desk, where the wide fork and crotch figure could be displayed prominently.
