Detailed Description This 8-Frame Double Deep Kit serves as the heart of your hive, providing two brood boxes for the queen’s egg-laying area and the bees’ winter stores. The deep boxes form the colony’s main living space, while medium honey supers (sold separately) can be added above for surplus honey. You can choose to order the kit unassembled, assembled, or assembled and painted. When assembled, boxes and frames are secured with glue and staples to ensure durability. Painted kits are finished with a white primer and premium UV-resistant paint on the exterior for protection against weathering. Since 2016, Foxhound Bee Company has supplied this proven setup to new and experienced beekeepers alike. Our kits stand out for their superior materials and craftsmanship — from precision-cut frames to double-coated beeswax foundation, which helps bees build comb more readily compared to standard foundations from other suppliers. This kit includes everything needed to house a growing colony, though additional medium boxes and frames may be required during the first season depending on your region or colony size. A queen excluder (sold separately) can be added between the brood boxes and honey supers to help manage egg-laying space.
